We are seeking GL Accountant to join our team in Tbilisi. GL Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the financial records of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and local tax regulations. This position reports to the accounting manager and works closely with other members of the accounting team.
Fixed Asset Accounting
• Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring timely capitalization of assets.
• Monitor asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and retirements.
• Conduct periodic physical verification of assets and reconcile discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant accounting standards
Lease Accounting
• Maintain the lease database and ensure accurate recording of lease contracts in accordance with IFRS 16
• Calculate right-of-use (ROU) assets and lease liabilities.
Payroll & Tax Compliance:
• Prepare payroll journal entries
• Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure compliance with local tax regulations
• Prepare personal income tax declaration for employees
Reporting
• Reconcile related general ledger accounts monthly.
• Support internal and external audits with the required documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field
• Experience in accounting for minimum 2 years
• Knowledge of accounting systems -SAP is a plus
• Knowledge of MS Excel, other computer programs, at user level
• Knowledge of English Language
• Strong numeric and analytical skills, attention to detail
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• A methodical approach and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
